On September 2, 1987, a set of three stamps was issued in Suriname (formerly Dutch Guiana) to mark the International Year of Shelter for the homeless. The top value, 150 c, marked the Centenary of the Salvation Army’s presence in the Carribbean area. It showed William and Catherine Booth together with a shield featuring a tropical seascape.
