A Salvation Army 75th anniversary in Switzerland cover with special Christmas postmark Bethlehem. The FDC version of this cover is numbered SA 35.9. This months prospect is a multistamped volunteer FDC. Few multistamped volunteer – lend a hand First Day of Issue covers exist, with the Salvation Army stamp attached. This is a special rare combo with different Volunteer organization stamps. Issued 20 April 1983 (FDC for the volunteer stamp). An SA officer can be seen on the picture at the left.

Saluting WWI Veterans – combo cover including the Salvation Army stamp of 1965. Issued: 26.08.1985 and postmarked in Milwaukee. FDC for the WWI Veteran stamp. Remark: Likely a rare combo.
1982 – Switzerland – Salon de l’auto
Special cachet issued to the 53. International Automobil “Salon” in Geneve (Salon de l’auto): 08.03.1983 (not FDC). Special postmark (Sonderdatumstempel). The cover has the Salvation Army anniversary stamp of 1982 (SG 1047). Very nice pictorial cachet, not seen before, likely rare with this stamp on.
1981 – South Africa – Cottrill
Info sheet about Commissioner Mr. & Mrs Cottrill’s visit to Southern Africa in 1981. Stamp: RSA flower 5c. The sheet is SIGNED by the commissioners, the territorial commanders and the local chief secretary. Commisioner WS Cottrill was the Chief of the Staff of the world-wide SA at the time. He was born in South Africa where his parents were SA missionaries. He completed his formal education in New Zealand before WWII and left NZ for the Army’s International Training College (London) in 1937. In 1940 he married Captain Kathleen Ward. Milwaukee Philatelic center multistamped cover, with WW I veterans, Red Cross and the Salvation Army stamp of 1965. Issued 26 Aug 1965 (not FDC). A very pictorial and nice cover.

First Flight cover TARAKAN – [Eerste Tarakanvlucht – van Batavia naar Tarakan]. Postmark: Batavia / Tarakan, 11 January 1937 (not FDC). Franked with the Salvation Army child welfare set – issued a month earlier (December 1936). Very pictorial and rare First Flight cover – estimated value £25+

Christmas 2011 – Scarborough Citadel 130th Anniversary w/ miniature sheet, issued 08.11.2011 (First day of issues for the sheet). Postmark: Crest – Scarborough Citadel Corps 130th Anniversary logo on Scarborough Citadel special sachet (Bradbury design). Note: Extremely rare, stated to be only 10 Miniature Sheets issued with this cachet design. NB! Reference cover – not in my collection.
