An unlisted Swiss FDC just turned up on Ebay. The cachet pictures the bonnet as on the stamp. The issue commemorated the 75th anniversary for the Salvation Army in Switzerland. The cover is cancelled with French PM. Not seen before. Likely very rare! See also other Swiss FDCs with single stamp.

SA 3 – Switzerland FDCs w/ singles
The Salvation Army celebrated its 75th anniversary in Switzerland 1958 with the characteristic bonnet pictured on the anniversary stamp. The Swiss FDCs of this anniversary serie was mostly issued with set of four different stamps. Here are a collection of cachets with single SA stamp. I just obtained the SA 3.2 with single stamp and have not seen it before.
Helping Hands FDC
A Private Espresso cover with the Helping Hands overprint was obtained. Very rare postmark (Ulisba). The cover is Multistamped with 2 x 4 block + 1 Stanley Gibbons 1138 Unwetter in der Switzerland stamp (Helping Hand overprint on SG 1109).
SA 17 – Switzerland – Multistamped FDC
A Swiss multistamped 1982 FDC was just obtained. It has a very rare postmark; from 9105 Schonengrund. The PM seems to be a special tourist PM, with the text: “Ferien Wandern Erholen” (Holiday Hiking). The item is a private and registered cover, possibly unique.
SA 23A – Unwetter Sammelblatt
The flood relief extra issue – “Unwetter in der Schweiz” – was overprinted with a Salvation Army logo (Helping Hand). An unlisted Ersttags Sammelblatt was issued and has revently been obtained. Very nice FD sheet.
A variation of the “Unwetter” FDC with Altdorf PM is included (small/wide cover):
Switzerland Philswiss FDC 1982
Swiss Salvation Army Philswiss FDCs are pretty seldom seen on auctions. These shown here are single set & smaller versions of the large Philswiss FDC with 4 blocks of each of the stamps in the set. The variation here is about different stamp placement. The below cachet also has a RARE local PM; Niederhasli.
SA FDCs Switzerland 1958 – Italian PM
The stamp commemorating the SA’s 75th anniversary in Switzerland was issued 05.03.1958 with three other anniversary issues.
In general the percentage of issued FDCs before the year 1960 was: 10% Italian (Berna), 20% French (Berne) and 70% German (Bern). Cat value for pictorial cachets with Italian PM is CHF 120. This specific cachet (Schweizerwaren) with Italian PM is very RARE!! Estimated value for this item is CHF 150+ for rare cachet.
Another unlisted Swiss FDC
An unlisted Swiss 1982 FDC was just obtained. The cachet shows a rider & horse in show jumping and has probably been used as an illustrative cachet for the show jumping stamp. I’ve not seen it used for the whole set before. Must be very RARE!
Company FDC Switzerland
Unlisted Swiss company FDC (Husler-Eichenberger) – not seen before. German PM, multistamped & registered (Einschreiben), sent to Holland. Seems to be of very limited edition – printed no. 65 on the backside.
Swiss SA FDC 1958
Unlisted & RARE Salvation Army FDC from Switzerland 1958. Italian postmark; “Berna”. Only 10% of the Swiss FDCs in the 50ties had Italian PM. In addition, this cover was issued in a very limited edition, probably no more than 20 were issued with this cachet and PM. Cat value CHF 120, estimated CHF 150+.
